Mike Davey ( Chair)

Mike has had a passion for motor sport for many years and has competed as a driver in three Targa Tasmania and Targa Wrest Point tarmac rallies.  That passion drew Mike to become a Director of Motorsports Tasmania in 2015 to help deliver great outcomes for the motorsport fraternity in Tasmania.
​
Mike’s is a Fellow of the Society of Certified Practicing Accountants as well as a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors.  His career has seen him working in senior finance roles for companies like Clorox and Coca-Cola Amatil in Sydney, then when back in Tasmania has predominantly worked as General Manager for business units within the Federal Group.

Mike is based in Hobart with his wife and children, enjoys anything involving going fast plus relaxing on Tasmania’s beautiful east coast.

Peter Killick (deputy chair)

Peter Killick has been a Director for Motorsports Tasmania since 2011 and has been Chairman 2013 until 2020.

​

Professional Experience:

Peter began his career as an apprentice joiner with Tasmanian construction company Fairbrother Pty ltd in 1983. Having been identified for a management position with the business, he commenced a fast track learning experience that took him from an apprentice joiner through to construction Foreman and into an office role in under 5 years.

With Fairbrother continually growing from the late 1980’s, Peter enjoyed a similar growth in his career with the business. Things really took off when he relocated to Hobart in 1993 to further the business in Southern Tasmania. This was an excellent opportunity and enabled him to ultimately advance to become a Director of the business and General Manager of their Tasmanian operations.

In January 2016 Peter left his employer of 33 years. Yearning for his own business and being a strong motoring enthusiast, Peter decided on a very different direction and purchased Bridgestone Select Moonah mid-2016.

Board Experience:​

Past Director and Board member of Fairbrother Pty Ltd for over 15 years, Tas Tafe (formerly TAFE Tas and Tasmanian Polytechnic) for 5 years, various Private school Boards, and  Chair, Motorsports Tasmania from 2013 until 2020.

In addition to Board activities, previous past President of the Rotary Club of Kingston and past President of the Hobart Sporting Car Club Inc. Founding Chairman of the Baskerville Foundation, and  Chairman of the Baskerville Historics event; the largest Tasmanian circuit racing event outside our Supercar Round.

Motorsport competition:

Recently retired from Tarmac rally competition, but competed in 7 Targa Tasmania events commencing in 1999, 4 Targa Wrest Point, 2 Rally of Burnie, 1 Targa High Country Victoria, competing since 2010 with his wife Roslyn.

Commenced Historic racing in a Mini Cooper S in 1997, still racing occasionally and previously Karting for 3 years, and various club level motorsport over the last 30 years.

 Anthony Donald

TasPorts Chief Executive Officer 

Anthony Donald is the CEO of TasPorts. As the company's most senior executive, Anthony has overall responsibility for all major corporate and operational decisions, as well as strategic direction, policy, culture and company resources.   Anthony is also a Deputy Chair of Ports Australia.

 

Prior to joining TasPorts, Anthony held a number of senior executive positions at the Port of Melbourne and Melbourne Airport. He is highly experienced in the strategic management of critical infrastructure in operational environments, including large scale project delivery and associated commercial business management.  Anthony holds a degree in civil engineering. 

 

Anthony has a keen interest in motor racing and has competed for over 20 years in the historic motor racing circuit and hill climb events.

 Stephen Kerrison

Stephen is TasRail’s Chief Projects & Assets Officer, responsible for securing and delivery of, all the Federal, State Government and internal funded projects. He is also responsible for TasRail’s overall asset management.

 

Stephen has 30 plus years’ experience across various leadership disciplines including asset management, capital project management, operational management, customer and stakeholder management and overall company management. This includes an extensive and successful background in attracting and delivery of both State and Federal Government funded critical infrastructure projects.

 

Stephen has a passion for motorsport, which began with his own competitive involvement and has expanded to supporting his family competing, at both state and national levels. Through this, Stephen has gained valuable insights into the importance of family participation in the growth of motorsport. He believes ensuring pathways for those younger motorsport participants to keep a lifelong involvement is vital to the ongoing growth of motorsport in Tasmania. He also wants to contribute, through his background and experience, in assisting motorsport Tasmania in maximising its  funding opportunities, fostering the sport’s continued growth.

Kendy Morgan

Ms Morgan has extensive knowledge in risk management gained from her long career in the insurance industry to date. 

 

She currently works for Allianz Insurance as National Product Manager, Commercial Motor residing in Hobart.

​

Ms Morgan has a passionate interest in Motorsport especially as a spectator at Rally events around the world.

“I am honoured to be the first female board member at Motorsports Tasmania to give back to the Tasmanian community by using my unique set of skills to further enhance such a great company,” said Ms Morgan.

Justin Rooke

Justin Rooke has been a Director of Motorsports Tasmania since 2015.
Justin Rooke is Dealer Principal and Managing Director of Tilford Auto Group, where he has been a long-time supporter of Tasmanian motor sport through his generosity and help with sponsorship and support of promotional vehicles, course and safety cars.

His directorship experience includes Chairing Ford National Dealer Council as well as a director of Australian Automobile Dealer Association.


Justin has a lifelong passion for cars of all types with an extensive Australian Muscle Car Collection and even a couple of exotic European vehicles, to cap it off which then extends to him being a collector of old service station memorabilia.

Craig Trenham

Stuart Wigston

Stuart attended his first motor racing event at just one month old in Dec

Stuart attended his first motor racing event at just one month old in December 1970. For the next 25 years, motorsport remained the central focus of his life. He is the son of Tasmanian Motorsport Hall of Fame inductee Garth Wigston and Bev Wigston, founding president of Women for Wheels.

Over the years, Stuart has contributed to the motorsport community through numerous volunteer roles, including track maintenance, timekeeping, serving on the committee of the Hobart Sporting Car Club, and holding the position of President of the Formula Vee Association of Tasmania. He also competed in Formula Vee throughout the 1990s and has worked as an advanced and defensive driving instructor.

Stuart holds Real Estate Agency and Property Management qualifications and is a Certified Practising Valuer (AAPI). He has served in several senior roles as a shareholder and director within successful real estate and property valuation/advisory firms. In addition, Stuart was the International Sales Director for his family’s award-winning manufacturing and export business, Wigston Lures (producers of the Tasmanian Devil fishing lure), gaining extensive experience in business administration.

Outside of work, Stuart enjoys water sports and fishing, keeping fit, gardening, bushwalking, driving the family XW GT, and exploring back roads on his motorbike.
